The 990AC is the Brick + Mortar take on Aldenās classic 990 Plain Toe Blucher. Weāve kept most of the details the same as the 990, except we have added a split commando outsole and antiqued the midsole and welt, which ties in with the Color 8 Shell Cordovan beautifully. The vibrant and famous Color 8 Shell Cordovan produced by Horween Leather Co. varies in hues from eggplant to dark burgundy and is known for wardrobe versatility. This Blucher is adventure ready and set to develop unique patina with wear and care.Ā
Shell Cordovan is made from the connective tissue from a portion of a horseās rump. Itās rare, low yield and known for its dense, tight grain and durability. This leather is highly regarded for being able to maintain its luster and shape over time.Ā
Alden footwear is crafted using Goodyear Welt construction, which allows for a full restoration when necessary and a water resistant build. A tempered steel shank under the arch and a cork fill provides remarkable support and comfort throughout the day.

We will gladly exchange or issue store credit for any unworn regular price shoes or leather accessories purchased from us within 14 days of purchase date. We do not offer refunds and store credits do not expire. Shoes and leather accessories must be in the same condition with no signs of try-on or wear to allow for re-stocking. Re-stocking fees may apply for special order items. We do not accept returns or exchanges on socks or shoe care products. Gift certificates are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. All in-stock Alden Catalog special orders must be paid in full at the time of order. For back order Alden Catalog styles, we require a 50% deposit at the time of order.
