"Brigadier" Handsewn Norwegian Front Boot in Brown Chromexcel, Trubalance Last

The “Brigadier” Handsewn Norwegian Front Boot is made exclusively for Brick + Mortar. Crafted using brown Chromexcel leather from the famous Horween tannery. Known for its softness, durability, and resiliency to the elements, Chromexcel is an ideal choice for casual, rugged footwear. Packed with waxes and oils, the leather is easy to maintain and will develop a rich patina with wear.

Alden’s Norwegian Front toe stitch is a decorative finish which pays homage to the water resistant work boots of over 100 years ago. The process for constructing the uppers and placing on the Last is so difficult that there are only 2 or 3 highly trained hand-sewers that are tasked with this responsibility. The front of the shoe is actually a single piece of hide, not multiple pieces that are stitched as you would see on a split toe. The craftsmen use a tool to pinch the leather and then 2 needles to pierce the seam on opposite sides, hand-sewing what you see.

Alden footwear is crafted using Goodyear Welt construction, which allows for a full restoration when necessary and a water resistant build. A tempered steel shank under the arch and a cork fill provides remarkable support and comfort throughout the day.
