What is your return/exchange policy?Â
We will gladly exchange an item for a different size or issue store credit for returns on any unworn, regular priced shoes or leather accessories, purchased from us within 14 days of receipt.
We do not offer refunds and store credits never expire.
Shoes and leather accessories must be in the same new condition with no signs of try-on or wear to allow for re-stocking. Re-stocking fees may apply for special order items.
We do not accept returns or exchanges on socks or shoe care products. Gift certificates are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
All "Last Call" and sale items are considered final sale. All "Add to Run" catalog orders are considered final sale with no exceptions.
If there are any issues with your Alden footwear please reach out to us immediately. Your order will still be subject to the regular timeframe for returns (14 days of purchase date/receipt). While major issues are rare, we treat them on a case-by-case basis. Please email pictures of the issues directly to us at info@brickmortarseattle.com. Please note that we can only assist you with B+M footwear purchased directly from us and not from a secondary market, alternative retailer or auction site.
When will my items ship?
We pride ourselves on fast order processing times. Your order will typically be processed within 24 hours if placed during regular business hours. Exceptions include holidays, weekends and store events/closures.
Our sales team will contact you via email once your order has been packaged and the shipping label has been created.
How much are pre-order deposits?Â
A $300 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of placing a pre-order. The remaining balance including shipping is due when the order arrives. If you need a non-standard D width size, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit at the time of placing your pre-order.Â
All in-stock Alden catalog special orders must be paid in full at the time of order. For back ordered Alden catalog styles we require a 50% deposit at the time of order. No cancellations are permitted for Alden catalog special orders.
We will contact you upon the arrival of the order. Once we contact you, you then have up to 14 days to pay the remaining balance, otherwise your order will be cancelled and you will forfeit your deposit. Please contact the sales team for further information.Â
How long do pre-orders take?
Production times will vary depending on the order. ETA's are listed with each pre-order and the ETA provided on the website is our original intended delivery date, but not a guaranteed arrival date. Please note if your order is a handsewn style, there may be delays.
I’ve never worn Alden shoes before. How do I know what size I take?Â

How much does shipping cost?
Shipping charges will vary based on dimensional weight and volume. Shipping charges are not based upon the dollar amount spent.
The estimated shipping cost for a single pair of boots/shoes via UPS Ground anywhere within the USA is $20, and $60 USPS Priority Mail International to Canada.
Please note, B+M does not profit off of shipping charges and proactively refunds the purchaser when the actual cost is lower than what was paid at checkout.
Do you offer international shipping?
At the request of Alden Shoe Co, we can only ship Alden goods within the USA and Canada.
All other brands we carry such as Crown Northampton and Pantherella ship worldwide.
How do I check the status of my order and track my package?
Our sales team will email you the order confirmation and tracking details once your order has shipped. For further assistance, please email or call the store.
Do you have any rare color Shell Cordovan models available for purchase?
Rare Shell models are not made public. We’re happy to add you to our Rare Shell waitlist, but please note that the list is lengthy and could take a considerable amount of time. Priority will go to our existing Brick + Mortar clients currently on the waitlist.Â
Does Alden offer women's shoes?
Alden only offers men’s shoes. With that said, we do have loyal female clients who purchase Alden shoes in smaller men's sizes. Please contact our sales team for further details and recommendations.
Do you offer price matching?
No, we do not offer any price matching.
I need my Alden shoes resoled. Can you recommend someone?
The Alden factory offers a restoration program to keep your shoes looking their absolute best. A factory restoration includes re-soling of your Alden shoes, refinishing of leather uppers, and potentially some minor repairs of the shoes. Alden cedar shoe trees are included with every factory restoration. The entire process takes appoximately 8 weeks (excluding transit time). Restoration fee is $200. If you would like us to coordinate the restoration from start to finish, there may be additional shipping charges. Otherwise, you can contact Alden and send your shoes directly to the factory.
My order has a defect? What do I do?

Where are Alden's made?
Alden Shoes have been made in Massachusetts at their own factory since 1884. They do not outsource production and are 100% American made. More about the brand can be found in the Our Story section of our website.
