"B&T" Handsewn Norwegian Front Boot in Tobacco Reverse Chamois, Barrie Last

The “B&T” Handsewn Norwegian Front Boot is made exclusively for Brick + Mortar using a rugged and tough reverse chamois leather which wears soft and comfortable on foot. Expertly crafted to handle the elements with minimal maintenance, this Tobacco Reverse Chamois leather (similar to “roughout”) is packed with oils, making it highly water-resistant and durable.

Alden’s Norwegian front toe stitch is a decorative finish which pays homage to the water resistant work boots of over 100 years ago. The process for constructing the uppers and placing on the Last are so difficult there are only a few highly trained hand-sewers that are tasked with this responsibility. The front of the shoe is actually a single piece of hide, not multiple pieces that are stitched as you would see on a split toe. The craftsmen use a tool to pinch the leather and then 2 needles to pierce the seam on opposite sides, hand-sewing what you see.

Alden footwear is crafted using Goodyear Welt construction, which allows for a full restoration when necessary and a water resistant build. A tempered steel shank under the arch and a cork fill provides remarkable support and comfort throughout the day.
