    The “Regent” V-Tip Derby is made exclusively for Brick + Mortar. Developed in the early 1960’s as an alternative to the popular U-Tip, the V-Tip soon became a popular and iconic Alden split toe design. Known also as the Algonquin, our “Regent” V-Tip derby shoe features the iconic split toe design in a vibrant burgundy color 8 shell cordovan from Horween Leather Co. While naturally matte, this leather has the ability to shine up like no other.

    Shell Cordovan is made from the connective tissue from a portion of a horse’s rump. It’s rare, low yield and known for its dense, tight grain and durability. This leather is highly regarded for being able to maintain its luster and shape over time. 

    Alden footwear is crafted using Goodyear Welt construction, which allows for a full restoration when necessary and a water resistant build. A tempered steel shank under the arch and a cork fill provides remarkable support and comfort throughout the day.

    Shoe Size Guide

    Size down ½ Size (US 9.5D = Alden 9D)

    The Barrie last runs a 1/2 size larger than your standard US shoe size. The hallmarks of the Barrie last is its voluminous shape (high toe box, wide heel cup) and its ability to fit many different foot shapes comfortably. For this reason, it’s Alden’s most popular last. If you have slimmer feet or a low volume instep, sizing down a full size in the Barrie Last is common.
