"Regent" V-Tip Derby in Black Shell Cordovan, Barrie Last

The “Regent” V-Tip derby is made exclusively for Brick + Mortar. Developed by Alden in the early 1960’s as an alternative to the popular U-Tip, the V-Tip soon became an iconic Alden split toe design. Known also as the Algonquin, our “Regent” V-Tip derby shoe features the iconic split toe design in a black shell cordovan from Horween Leather Co., crafted upon the popular Barrie Last. 

Shell Cordovan is made from the connective tissue from a portion of a horse’s rump. It’s rare, low yield and known for its dense, tight grain and durability. This leather is highly regarded for being able to maintain its luster and shape over time. 

Alden footwear is crafted using Goodyear Welt construction, which allows for a full restoration when necessary and a water resistant build. A tempered steel shank under the arch and a cork fill provides remarkable support and comfort throughout the day.
