The “Magnuson” Norwegian Front Boot is made exclusively for Brick + Mortar. Crafted using a vibrant Color 8 Shell Cordovan which varies in hues from eggplant to dark burgundy. This color is known for wardrobe versatility and comes adventure ready with a commando sole, set to develop unique patina with wear and care. A 360 pre-stitched reverse antique welt, dark brown hardware and tonal stitching atop this luxurious leather give this workwear throwback a dressed up sensibility.
Shell Cordovan is made from the connective tissue from a portion of a horse’s rump. It’s rare, low yield and known for its dense, tight grain and durability. While naturally matte, Shell can achieve a notable glossy finish. This leather is highly regarded for being able to maintain its luster and shape over time.
Alden’s Norwegian Front Toe stitch is a decorative finish which pays homage to the water resistant work boots of over 100 years ago. The hand-butted seam is distinctive and intricate. The process for constructing the uppers and placing on the last is so difficult that there are only 2 or 3 highly trained hand-sewers that are tasked with this responsibility. The front of the shoe is actually a single piece of shell hide, not multiple pieces that are stitched as you would see on a split toe. The craftsmen uses a tool to pinch the leather and then uses 2 needles to pierce the seam on opposite sides, hand-sewing what you see.
Alden footwear is crafted using Goodyear Welt construction, which allows for a full restoration when necessary and a water resistant build. A tempered steel shank under the arch and a cork fill provides remarkable support and comfort throughout the day.

We will gladly exchange or issue store credit for any unworn regular price shoes or leather accessories purchased from us within 14 days of purchase date. We do not offer refunds and store credits do not expire. Shoes and leather accessories must be in the same condition with no signs of try-on or wear to allow for re-stocking. Re-stocking fees may apply for special order items. We do not accept returns or exchanges on socks or shoe care products. Gift certificates are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. All in-stock Alden Catalog special orders must be paid in full at the time of order. For back order Alden Catalog styles, we require a 50% deposit at the time of order. No cancellations Alden Catalog special orders.All Last Call and sale items are considered final sale. All "Add to Run" catalog orders are considered final sale.
